The BS-VI compliant version of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R 1.0-litre petrol variant has been launched, with prices starting at Rs 4.42 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Wagon R is also available with a 1.2-litre BS-VI compliant petrol engine.
The upgrade to BS-VI compliance for this engine in the Maruti Wagon R sees a price increase for the hatchback in the range of Rs 3,000 to Rs 30,000, depending on the variant. The 1.0-litre engine produces 67bhp/90Nm and can be had with a five-speed manual unit or a five-speed automated manual unit.
This now completes the Indian’s automaker’s transition to BS-VI compliance in terms of petrol engines. The aforementioned engine also powers the S-Presso and Celerio. We expect an announcement regarding the Celerio and CelerioX becoming BS-VI compliant very soon.
