The Grove team, Williams announced that 28-year-old Brazilian Bruno Senna will accompany the Venezuelan driver Pastor Maldonado at the Formula 1 season this year. He replaced fellow countryman and veteran Rubens Barrichello who has never missed the GP in the last twenty years. About this, the veteran wrote on Twitter that his future was "wide open".

Bruno is nephew of the renowned Ayrton, who has been the world champion thrice. Senna made his debut at the age of 20 at the GP two years ago, in 2010, as a part of the Hispania team. Unfortunately, back then, he could not reserve a seat for himself for the season of 2011. However, he secured a spot in the Renault team by replacing Nick Heidfeld for the 2011 Belgian GP. He did not make it to the team this year and was replaced by the Renault’s 2012 team members Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean.

2012 will start on a good note for the Brazilian driver, who earned two points in eight races last year. Bruno will race with Maldonado at the Formula 1 GP at Jerez on 9th February 2012. Senna selection was done only after he passed the rigorous evaluation Williams put him through.

Talking about this, Senna said "I feel very privileged that Williams has selected me as one of their race drivers. The team has a great heritage and I hope I can help write a good chapter in their history. The evaluation process has been intense and methodical but the time I have spent in the factory has demonstrated that the team has great people and all the resources needed to achieve better things this season.”
