With this recent development, industry experts are of a view that Nissan India and its latest compact SUV have been constantly grabbing the attention from quite some time. Sources have revealed that the Terrano will be tagged with a price of around Rs. 8.5 lakh, for the base variant. It is expected that the mid variant will be priced close to Rs. 9.5 lakh, while around Rs. 12.5 lakh for the top end version. The model is expected to come equipped with a host of features like fog lamps, leather seats and designer alloy wheels.

It must be noted that Nissan Terrano has been based on the platform of well acclaimed Renault Duster. With the launch of a new model, industry experts are of a view that the Japanese auto maker is hoping to experience a turnaround in its fortunes. Interestingly, auto analysts have drawn a parallel between Renault and Nissan as the former also revived its operations in the Indian auto market by introducing the Duster. Nissan and Renault have a product sharing policy, under which both the auto makers use a common platform to produce cars. In past, this alliance has offered cars under the same concept, such as Nissan Micra - Renault Pulse and Nissan Sunny - Renault Scala.

The yet to be launched Nissan Terrano will feature an aggressive design, making it look sportier than Renault Duster. Experts are of a view that the changes made at exteriors could prove to be important for luring the Indian buyers towards its stand. Also, Nissan India has worked really hard to bring similarities in Terrano with its other SUVs like X-Trail and Pathfinder. As the model has been officially revealed, it sports new bumpers, tailgate, exclusive grille, tail lights and head lights. It is said that these changes at exteriors are expected to stand the Terrano apart from Duster, and provide it a touch of uniqueness.

Reportedly, in recent times, the sales of compact SUVs have increased in the Indian auto market. The price sensitive domestic buyers have developed a penchant for such models as they are stylish, powerful, compact yet spacious, affordable. Currently, the compact SUV segment is dominated by models like Renault Duster and Ford EcoSport.
