The dealership of Italian bike maker Ducati in Mumbai has started taking bookings for the Scrambler motorcycle, which has been much anticipated by the brand’s fan following in India. An entry-level bike by the Audi-owned bike maker, Scrambler is available at an ex-showroom price (Mumbai) of Rs. 6.57 lakh. Also, the only Icon version of the Ducati Scrambler is available in the Indian market.

Ducati has been a little more conservative with its launches this time around. When it had first entered the Indian market, Ducati had introduced several models from its range and that too at pretty aggressive prices. As far as the Scrambler is concerned, Ducati has launched only variant at present as it wanted to gauge the customer response first. Notably, Ducati Scramble has variants other than the Icon, namely Full Throttle, Urban Enduro and Classic. The variant launched in India, Icon, is the middle-range version of Ducati Scrambler and is available internationally in yellow and red colour.

Differences in versions of Ducati Scrambler are merely cosmetic and all are same as far as mechanical configuration is concerned. Ducati Scrambler is fitted with a V-Twin powertrain that has a displacement of 803 cc and is capable of delivering an output of 75 BHP. The engine comes mated to a six-speed transmission system. Notably, Ducati Scrambler has been brought to India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. Reports suggest that Ducati will commence deliveries of this bike in the first half of May.
