The BMW X5 is available as a seven-seater but isn’t a full-size SUV to take on the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the Audi Q7. To step up the game, BMW is building the new X7 which will have three full rows of seating and will be the new flagship SUV from the German car maker.

The latest test mules that have been spotted have a bit less camouflage as compared to the earlier vehicles and now get proper headlamps and tail lamps fitted. But these lights are just a stop gap fitment and not the final ones. The test mules reveal the butch square lines of the BMW X7 and it looks massive. The kidney grille up front is probably the largest yet on a BMW in terms of size and is decked up high on a sculpted bumper hidden under the camouflage. The tailgate cuts and creases are similar to the X5 and follow the BMW signature look for the SUVs.

Being the flagship SUV from be assured that it will get everything you need for not only a comfortable motoring experience but a luxurious one at that. The list is expected to include a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable seats, motorised ORVMs, multi-zone climate control and leather seats.

Motivation is expected to come from their bread and butter 3.0-litre diesel V6 turbocharged diesel generating more than 250bhp of power and more than 500Nm of torque. You will have more powerful petrol and diesel options globally. It will get X-Drive all-wheel drive standard across the range mated to an eight-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

BMW X7 is slated for a global debut by early 2018 and we hope ti comes to India right after its global launch, somewhere around mid-2018.
