      BMW's new M3 sedan and M4 coupe launching tomorrow

      BMW’s new M3 sedan and M4 coupe will set foot in India tomorrow; the two vehicles from the performance oriented M division of BMW will come powered with a new engine. Both the vehicles will be brought to India as completely built units. Underpinning the same platform as M3 Coupe, M4 coupe is the successor model of the former.

      The new M3 sedan is relatively lighter than its outgoing version; courtesy use of magnesium and carbon-fiber parts and high-tensile materials used in the body of the sedan. Substantial weight reduction of new M3 will in turn help is yielding enhanced performance and improved performance. Despite of producing 40 per cent more torque, both the cars have been tuned to consume 25 per cent reduced fuel and C02 emissions as against their previous variants.

      The new M4 gets 18 inch alloy wheels as s standard fitment while 19 inch alloys will be offered as an optional provision. Other than this the vehicle comes with a carbon fiber roof and a 60:40 split rear seat.

      Both the cars will come equipped with the new 3.0 litre, twin-turbocharged, six-cylinder petrol engine. The robust engine is good for 431 Bhp of pinnacle power between 5500-7300 RPM along with 550 Nm of torque between 1850-5500 RPM. The athletic engine enables the cars to accelerate from stand still to 100kmph within less than five seconds and attain an electronically limited top-speed of 250kmph. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, a seven-speed automatic tranny is also likely to be offered.It is expected that new M3 sedan and M4 coupe could be priced around Rs 1 crore.
