The 740e, as the name suggests, is a hybrid car. It is powered by a four-cylinder turbo petrol engine along with an electric motor which has a combined output of 326bhp. On the cosmetic front, this hybrid variant gets the ‘i’ logo on the front fenders and blue accents on the kidney grille as well as the alloy wheels.

This hybrid car also debuts the iPerformance sub-brand and will be officially revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The German automaker will, from July 2016 designate all its hybrid models with the iPerformance badge. A statement from the company says this is a visible indicator of technology from it’s ‘I’ range to its core models.

The German automaker has already launched the next generation 7 Series in the Indian market for Rs 1.1 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) and offers it in the 730Ld and 750Li body style.
