      BMW R nine T launched at Rs 23.5 lakh, deliveries begin next month

      BMW Motorrad has added a new roadster to its range that includes S1000R, K1300R and R1200R. Christened, ‘R nine T’, the new roadster is priced at Rs 23.5 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The bike will be made available in India as a completely built unit, while the bike has been launched officially, but delivery will begin effective August. In the front, BMW has equipped round head lamp, analogue instrument with a dash of aluminium accent bestow a classic look upon the bike. Rear resembles a Cafe Racer, while wire spoke wheels contribute to its old line semblance.

      Power is generated through an air-cooled flat twin 1170 cc boxer engine that belts out a maximum power of 110bhp at 7550 RPM and a top torque of 119Nm at 6000 RPM. A six-speed transmission is mated to the engine that transmits power to the rear wheels through a carden shaft drive. The bike attains a top speed of 200 Km/h, and is vouched to deliver a fuel efficiency of 22Km/l.

      BMW Motorrad has also put on offing numerous bespoke options, bike enthusiasts can get their R nine T customized as per their convenience. A hump can be positioned in place of rear subframe and rear frame can also be removed for solo driving. Other options include an -down telefork, alternative electrical components, rear axle with three mounting points for license plate, rear swing and optional akrapovic exhaust.
