BMW M4 CS Photo Gallery

The BMW M4 CS was unveiled at the Auto Shanghai early this year, slotting between the M4 Competition package and the extreme track-focussed M4 GTS. This car also points at the new hierarchy for the M range of sportscars. With a price tag of GBP 98,000 (Rs 70.7 lakh) in the UK, the M4 CS will be produced in limited numbers. Cues like the unique carbon fibre front splitter, rear diffuser and Gurney spoiler lip set the BMW M4 CS apart from the standard car.

Even the bonnet and roof are made from the lightweight carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) to aid weight loss.

The lightweight M sports seats with Alcantara and black dashboard trim complement the M4 CS’ character, giving it a sporty ambience.

At the heart of the M4 CS is the same 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine as the Competition Package, though it produces an extra 10 bhp.

Top speed is still limited to 280kmph. However the 0kmph to 100kmph time has been taken into sub-four second territory, at 3.9 seconds.

Transferring power to the rear wheels is the seven-speed DCT gearbox, with fully-automated gear changes as well as manual intervention through paddle shifters.

While the suspension setup is similar to that of the Competition Package, the CS rides on blacked-out lightweight forged aluminium wheels.

The feather in M4 CS’ cap is the 7 minutes 38 seconds lap time recorded at the Nurburgring Nordschleife track in Germany, making it as fast as modern sports cars.
