While a total of 202 cars have been pin-pointed, the bulletin states that the cars are believed to have come off the shop floor between May 12, 2016 and July 4, 2016. As per the car maker, the affected cars need a new rear differential. Though details were not mentioned, BMW has reiterated in the bulletin that it cannot be repaired. In fact, it makes perfect sense to go for a replacement, as a complicated repair job could definitely be time consuming.

BMW has dished out a few recalls worldwide this year. These include concerns with the ISOFIX child seat mounts, front driveshaft universal joint problems and also some airbag faults. Currently, no specifics have been presented by the car maker about where they intended to deliver these cars. Obviously, there’s going to be some delays. Though some of the cars mentioned are available in India, BMW India has not made any official statement on this so far.
