BMW has revealed its intentions of commencing operations at its new facility in Manaus, Brazil. This occurred soon after BMW ended its longstanding production partnership that started in 2009 with Dafra Motos, a Brazilian CKD bike assembler.

New to the model line-up will be the G310R that is slated to join the present portfolio of eight motorcycles when the plant becomes operational in the second half of 2016. With BMW’s focus on generating sales growth in the region, the G310R will serve to help this purpose and also meet the manufacturer’s estimated production capacity of 10,000 units in 2017.

“With our global growth strategy, we strengthened our presence in emerging markets like Brazil. In this context, the G310R will play a key role in attracting new audiences to the BMW,” said Stephan Schaller, President of BMW globally.

BMW is getting ready to launch the G310R in India towards the end of the year.
