The upcoming all-new BMW Z4 was spotted testing in the city streets with its soft top down for the first time.
The new generation Z4 was teased by BMW a few days ago with a vague silhouette line that sported a sharp roll-over hoop. In the new spied images now, the rollover hoops are clearly visible. Upfront the cladding reveals nothing new. However, there is a rudimentary canard fin on the front bumper that is sure to be missed out in the production body. The windscreen is proportionate and there are contours and stately shapes visible under the cladding.
Although the rear is heavily camouflaged, the characteristic Z4 posterior is hard to miss. The tail lights seem to take the inspiration from the outgoing Z4, yet look futuristic. The lip spoiler is complemented by dual exhaust tips. The blacked-out alloys on the prototype are similar to one seen on the hardcore M4 GTS.
BMW put a caption with the teaser that states “Starting 17 August, the road will never be the same”. This means the upcoming Z4 is nearing its global premiere. BMW might reveal the new Roadster at the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance or the Frankfurt Motor Show.
