BMW adds three new edition trims for 3 Series

The 2018 BMW 3 Series line-up has been updated with three new edition models. Featuring a slew of cosmetic updates and creature comforts, the Edition Sport Line Shadow, Edition Luxury Line Purity and the Edition M Sport Shadow give specific character to the sedan.

The Edition Sport Line Shadow adds a sporty appeal to the 3 Series with a host of visual updates. The headlamps and tail lamps get black inserts, with black surround for the kidney grille and air ducts and chrome black tail pipes. It rides on jet black 18-inch wheels. Inside, the Edition Sport Line Shadow gets a new steering wheel, leather and fabric combination for the upholstery and aluminium carbon trim for the dashboard with chrome strips.

As the name suggests, the Edition Luxury Line Purity aims to improve the luxury quotient of the 3 Series. Visual updates include aluminium accents for the kidney grille, window sill, air ducts and the rear bumper. Even the tail pipes and the 17-inch alloy wheels get aluminium finish. The leather upholstery gets a new colour option – cognac, with contrasting stitching. The trims and strips on the dashboard are made of wood and chrome.

BMW turned to the M division to roll out the performance-focussed trim of the 3 Series, called the Edition M Sport Shadow. It gets blacked-out headlamps and tail lamps, black kidney grille and chrome black tail pipes. It rides on 19-inch M wheels. The interior sports black leather upholstery with blue stitching and carbon inserts for the dashboard. Unlike the case of the other two trims, changes to this one aren’t just cosmetic. The Edition M Sport Shadow also gets M sports suspension, a new aerodynamics package, lighter alloy wheels and an additional Sport+ driving mode. A host of ‘m’ badges all around complete the package. LED headlamps and fog lamps are offered as a standard in all three trims.

Also available for the 3 Series Touring

These three edition trims are also available in the estate version of the 3 Series, the 3 Series Touring. These will go sale in the US and Europe in July.
