The German based premium auto giant, BMW has showcased the new 6 series with diesel engine in a bid to providing the company’s customers across the globe, the cutting edge technology combined with immense luxury. The BMW 6 series will now comprise a new entrant, 640d xDrive in coupé and cabriolet variants with intelligent all-wheel drive technology introduced for the first time ever in the 6 series.
The BMW 640d xDrive efficiently blends the highly powerful 3.0L six-cylinder diesel engine and the unique twin-power turbo technology to outpour a peak power of 313 hp and a peak torque of 465 pound feet. The luxury car is designed to achieve greater efficiency in terms of energy utilizing the ECO PRO mode that carries out amendments in the engine management, automatic transmission and the accelerator mapping. Moreover, the utility functions such as the climate control mechanism and the heating of the seat and exterior mirrors are systematically determined towards achieving efficacy in energy saving and utilization.
The in-car entertainment package offers the HiFi audio system and the Apps option that includes BMW Connected application benefitting the Apple iPhone users to access Twitter, Facebook and also the web radio. BMW 640d xDrive will hit the U.S market this spring, however, the luxury auto maker will reveal more specification, pricing and release date details at the Geneva Motor Show commencing this March.
