The country’s famous bike maker Bajaj Auto will be showcasing an improved version of its long awaited ultra low cost (ULC) car at the forth coming 2012 Delhi Auto Expo. This is the same car to which it has been planning to develop in partnership with Renault-Nissan joint venture in India. It has been more than three years since Nissan-Renault and Bajaj are in talks to develop this ULC car for the emerging markets like India, but the venture is yet to be finalized.

Earlier, the ULC car was expected to hit the Indian roads in the first quarter of year 2012. In this joint venture, while Bajaj is suppose to take care the development and designing of the car, Nissan-Renault would be handling the marketing and distribution of the car in the country.

Bajaj has announced a few months back that the USP of this car will be its considerably higher fuel economy of over 30 km per liter, much higher as compared to the country’s cheapest car Tata Nano’s fuel economy of 25 km per liter.

Besides showcasing an improved concept of ULC car, the company will also display a carrier render based on the Bajaj ULC car at its platform, at the auto expo. Moreover, the company will also showcase its range of commercial vehicles at this expo.
