Bajaj Auto will launch the much-awaited Pulsar RS 200 sports bike in the Indian two-wheeler market on March 26, 2015. Ahead of its launch, Bajaj dealers have started taking pre-orders for the bike for a token amount of Rs. 5,000. The deliveries for the bike are being promised in April. The Pulsar RS 200 is basically the re-branded Pulsar 200 SS, which will go on sale in various nations including Indonesia and Turkey.

Interestingly, the Pulsar AS 200 or Active Sport 200 has also entered the production phase. While the RS 200 is a fully faired bike, the AS 200 is a semi-faired bike with former's specifications. The AS 200 is equipped with a medium sized transparent windshield that extends backwards for improved wind deflection.

The Pulsar RS 200 is powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that churns out 24.4PS of power at 9,500rpm and 18.6Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. This engine also powers the Pulsar 200 NS, but it is tweaked to produce 1 PS more power and .3Nm more torque. This engine is coupled to a six-speed gearbox. Same engine will also power the AS 200.

It is expected that the Pulsar RS 200 will come with ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard feature. The top-spec models will also get sensors on each wheel. The bike features a full fairing with twin projector headlamps, daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, etc. Dimensionally, the Pulsar RS 200 measures 2,060mm in length, 750mm in width, 1,160mm in height and has a ground clearance of 165mm. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 1.10 lakh to Rs. 1.35 lakh.
