Bajaj Auto, the homegrown automaker, will launch the much-awaited Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 in the country today. 'RS' in the name refers to Racing Sport. Production of the bike has already begun, and the company has dispatched the first batch of the bike to its dealerships. In fact, one can pre-book the bike for a token amount of Rs. 5,000

The fully-faired Pulsar RS 200 features side-by-side projector headlights with flush fit LED lights that work as daytime running lamps. The front fairing will help in deflecting the wind at higher speeds. Based on the Pulsar 200 NS, the RS 200 will be powered by the same 199.5cc triple-spark single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 24.4PS of power at 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 18.6Nm at 8,000rpm. This engine is coupled to a six-speed gearbox.

The Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 will compete against the likes of KTM 200 Duke and Honda CBR 250R. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 1.10 lakh to Rs. 1.5 lakh, making it a strong competitor against other best sellers in the entry-level sport bike segment.

It will be offered in two variants- with and without ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). It will be the first Pulsar to feature ABS as safety feature. The sports bike weighs 151 kilos that means, it is 6kg heavier than the naked 200NS. The Bajaj Pulsar 200 RS is 2,060mm long, 750mm wide and 1,160mm tall, and has a ground clearance of 165mm.
