Bajaj is all set to launch the highly anticipated RS 200 model in India on March 26, 2015. There are expectations that this bike will break the standard of performance biking in the below Rs. 1.5 lakh segment. However, stiff competition will be produced by the second-generation Yamaha YZF R15, which also happens to be a popular name in this segment.

Some features, which make the RS 200, a high-performance motorcycle, are low-battery indicator, digital clock, coolant temperature indicator, twin-trip meters and a fuel reserve light. Interestingly the shots also show an ABS malfunction light, which indicates towards the presence of this feature in the bike. Experts believe that daytime running lamps, monoshock suspensions, alloy triple clamp, tubeless tyres and LED tail lamps will make it a clear winner in the respective segment. In terms of technical configuration, the bike will be provided with the same engine as NS 200, which is capable of producing a maximum power output of about 23.5 PS with peak torque output of about 18.3 Nm.

Both the bikes are provided with a six-speed transmission system. However, the pricing of the Bajaj model remains the top point of discussion. It is expected that the new model will be tagged approximately at Rs. 1.3 lakh, while the Yamaha model will come a price of Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
