Bajaj Auto is expected to unveil the new Pulsar 375 and Cruiser concept at the upcoming Auto Expo 2014. According to the information available from different sources, the bike company has been constantly refining Pulsar 375 exclusively for the Indian auto market. With regards to the Cruiser concept, one can expect it to get into production by 2015. Earlier, Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto had said that the Cruiser concept will differ from the existing 'Avenger' cruiser. Bike aficionados will gladly honour this statement as they expect something exiting from the company.
Sources close to the development process have revealed that the new Pulsar 375 will be the most powerful bike in its line-up. Though this new bike will get many engine parts from the KTM Duke 390, it would mark its own identity. The new Pulsar will come with a full fairing, telescopic front forks suspensions instead of the Duke’s USD units. It is expected to have a top speed higher than that of KTM Duke 390. This bike is likely to get a powerful 373 cc single cylinder liquid-cooled engine delivering peak power of 44 bhp and torque of up to 32 Nm. The engine will be mated to an efficient six-speed gearbox. Some other features that Pulsar 375 is likely to get are adjustable clip-on handlebars, projectors and pilot lamps. It may also get the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS); however nothing is confirmed as of now.
The price of the new Pulsar 375 is expected to be under Rs. 2 lakh. According to market experts, an aggressive pricing will help this new comer to lure more customers across the country. The bike company is expected to launch this bike after June 2014. Like Pulsar 200 NS, the new Cruiser concept bike is expected to get features like fuel injection, liquid cooling, 6-speed gearbox, monoshock rear suspension and triple spark ignition. One can expect the company to give away either a 200 cc or 373 cc engine options. Bajaj Auto is likely to unveil this bike at the upcoming motor show, followed by a subsequent launch.
