Renowned two-wheeler manufacturer, Bajaj Auto has introduced new colour options in its Pulsar 200NS model. The company has added three new dual-tone shades that add a dash of exciting new choice for prospective buyers of Pulsar 200NS. The bike is now available in Passion Red, Safire Blue and Metallic White shades with the Ebony Black kept common in all.

In a statement, Sanjay Saraswat, Vice President (Marketing) for Bajaj Auto said “The Pulsar is India’s number 1 sports bike for more than a decade now. We will continue to excite customers with new technology, unique features, class leading performance and, of course, on the styling front. The Pulsar 200NS, our flagship brand, is an absolute stunner when it comes to looks and the new dual-tone will further enhance the sportiness of the bike. The vibrant dual-tones are fresh and appealing in cosmetic terms, and make the bike look all the more attractive. We are confident that the new avatar will appeal to the new age biker, who is seeking a bike that not only offers great technology, but also unparalleled aesthetics.”

It must be noted that the changes given to Pulsar 200NS are only limited to exteriors as bike retains the same engine configuration. It gets a 4-valve Triple-Spark SOHC 200 cc engine, which renders a maximum power output of 23 bhp apart from the 18.3 Nm of torque. As claimed by the company officials, the engine given in Pulsar 200NS offers a better combustion ratio, which is 27 per cent faster than twin spark and 50 per cent faster than a single spark system. Furthermore, the liquid cooling mechanism helps in achieving the desired engine temperature, which results in longer engine life. The bike gets a 6-speed transmission system to achieve the highest levels of performance. To ensure better driveability and handling, the bike gets pressed-steel perimeter frame. For better comfort while riding through tough terrains, Pulsar 200NS gets Nitrox monoshock rear suspension. The braking duties on the bike are taken care by the front and rear petal disc brakes.

According to industry experts, the move taken by Bajaj Auto is a deliberate attempt aimed at clearing out the current stock which is lying with the company. As 2013 is coming to an end, almost every auto manufacturer tries to clear the inventories of the current year in order to start afresh from 2014. Reports are also suggesting that the company would be introducing an updated version of 200NS in 2014. At present, Pulsar 200NS carries an ex-showroom price of Rs. 87794 in New Delhi.

Interestingly, Bajaj Auto has dominated the bike segment in India with its Pulsar model. The latest version of Pulsar series, 200NS has carried forward the legacy of other models. It has been able to better the standards set by outgoing models, charting yet another success story for Bajaj Auto in India. The new colour scheme introduced on the bike seems a part of the strategy to make it more appealing for masses. Meanwhile, it is being said that 2014 will be a crucial year for Bajaj Auto as it will launch the 375 cc version of Pulsar along with a new 200SS model.
