      Bajaj Avenger 150 in the works; might launch with 220 Street and Cruise

      Bajaj Motors that announced to launch a range of Avenger bikes in the country is reportedly working on a 150cc version as well along with the 220cc DTS-i Street and Cruise. Currently, the company sells around 3,500 to 4,000 units of the Avenger on monthly basis, and with three new models the home-grown aims to take it up to 20,000 units per month. The new Bajaj Avenger 150 is expected to be launched by end of October within the price range of Rs. 70,000 – Rs. 75,000 (ex-showroom).

      The new Bajaj Avenger 150 might be share the engine with the Pulsar 150AS. Powering the Pulsar 150AS is a 149cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder air cooled engine that delivers a maximum power of 16.8bhp at 9,000rpm and 12.5Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. This engine comes mated with a five-speed transmission. Though, there is no official word about the technical details of the Avenger 150.

      The new Avenger 150 might take its design inspiration from the Street 220 and Cruise 220, and look similar to the its elder siblings. The bike could feature all-black treatment on alloys, exhaust and engine, along with the new graphics and an updated digital instrument cluster.

      Besides launching the new Avenger range, Bajaj Motors is also planning to add more products to its highly popular Pulsar range. The products lined-up under Pulsar brand are 150NS, 180NS, CS400 and RS400. According to reports, the home-grown bikemaker is planning to introduce an all-new premium two-wheeler brand. Though, the company hasn’t yet confirmed anything about this.
