      Bajaj auto registers 16.71 per cent jump in sales in April

      Bajaj Auto, a leading two wheeler maker in the Indian market, has registered a 16.71 per cent jump in the sales of its motorcycles in the month of April 2011. The company sold a total of 3,22,235 units of its bikes in the Indian market during the month as compared to 2,76,095 units sold in the same month last year.

      The company has registered its highest ever monthly exports during the month at 1,58,422 units as compared to 1,13,911 units sold in the month of April 2010, accounting for a sales jump of 39.08 per cent.

      In the three wheeler segment too, the company registered its best ever monthly sales at 45,074 units as compared to 37,350 units sold in the same month last year, registering a sales jump of 20.68 per cent.

      The cumulative sales of the company thus stood at 3,67,309 units last month as compared to 3,13,472 units sold in the same month last year, registering a total sales growth of 1.17 per cent.

      The popular bikes of the company in the Indian market include Bajaj Discover and Bajaj Pulsar, both of which have been registering an overwhelming response from the Indian buyers in this segment.
