      Bajaj Auto registers 14 percent jump in sales during July 2011

      Bajaj Auto, the second largest two wheeler maker in the Indian market, has registered a sales jump of 14 per cent in the month of July 2011. The company sold a total of 3,63,712 units of it vehicles during the month as compared to 3,18,415 units sold in the same month last year.

      The sales of Bajaj motorcycles stood at 3,18,095 units in this month as against 2,79,781 units sold in the same month last year, accounting for a sales jump of 14 per cent.

      On the other hand, the sales of company’s commercial vehicles stood at 45,617 units during July as compared to 38,634 units sold in the same period last year, registering a sales jump of 18 percent.

      The export figures of the company surged by 35 percent during the month. The company managed to sell 1,43,996 units of its vehicles in the overseas market during this month as compared to 1,06,794 units exported in the same month last year.

      Bajaj Auto is currently one of the most prominent two and three wheeler makers in the Indian market. The company sells a range of popular bikes in the country including the likes of Platina, Discover, and Pulsar.

      Meanwhile, the company has shelved the project of developing a ultra low cost car in the Indian market in partnership with Nissan-Renault. The car was previously scheduled to hit the Indian roads in early 2012, but due to some differences among the partners, they finally dropped the project.
