In recent time, Bajaj Auto has been losing its market share steadily in the two-wheeler market. In an attempt to regain its lost share, the company is reportedly planning on launching six new products in about next 6 months. The list would include new 100cc motorcycle apart from 400cc motorcycle under the Pulsar branding.

Speaking more on the occasion, S Ravikumar, Bajaj Auto President (Business Development & Assurance) said to PTI, “In the next six months, there will be one launch every month from us. In the 100 cc segment, we have the Platina to address the value-for-money customers and Discover for executives. The new model will have its own space. We also will launch a 400 cc bike under our flagship Pulsar brand. We are looking at improving our market share, which is currently around 16-17 per cent to over 20 per cent by March on the basis of these launches.”

In the period between April-December last year, Bajaj Auto reported a decline in sale of about 13.33% with 13,91,341 units as against 16,05,308 units noted in the same period last year. Surprisingly, the demand for discover trim has gone down considerably whereas models like Pulsar, Platina and KTM has gone down. Speaking more on the withdrawal of excise duty concessions, which has indeed passed on the customers, Ravikumar added, “With the raw material costs coming down and the Indian economy looking up, the impact of the increase in excise rate will be absorbed.”
