The D+ sedan segment in Indian auto market features some high quality products competing for a major market share. The local consumers face some great deal of confusion for deciding which way should they go for. There are numerous options available from all major auto operators in the country, comprising the likes of Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Chevrolet Cruze, Skoda Superb, Volkswagen Passat, Renault Fluence, Nissan Teana and Maruti Suzuki Kizashi amongst others.

The sales are usually unimpressive in the segment, because of the high end clientele it entertains in the country. The Indian auto market is infamous for its obsession with low cost and fuel efficient models, which contribute to bulk of sales of cars in Indian auto market. On the other hand, D+ segment usually witnesses smallest sales among all other segments operated in the country. Considering the sales figures of major car companies functioning in India, D+ segment is found lowest on the charts, because of its high pricing and small clientele.

Evidently, in order to lure the high end Indian clientele capable of buying D+ products, the top car majors announce huge discounts every now and then, mostly around year end and festivals. However, those numbers look good only in advertisements and don't actually offer much respite to the local consumers. The D+ segment models are retailed close to the price tag close to Rs. 20 lakhs and thus, discounts between Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 60,000 don't really excite the customers.
