      Auto Expo 2012 witnessed the launch of Audi Q3 and A3 e-tron concept

      On 5th January 2012 Audi, the German luxury car maker, displayed a host of class apart vehicles at the 11th Auto Expo in the capital. On the sidelines of Audi’s 5 years of success in the Indian auto market, the company arrived at the expo with its compact SUV, Audi Q3 and the latest A3 e-tron future concept. In addition, the stylish Audi S6 limousine, the power booster diesel SUV and Audi Q7 V12 were also present at the stand.

      A range of Audi’s current offerings to the country were also put on display. The luxury car maker also showcased the three key technologies that serve as pillars for operations carried out by the company. The three coveted technologies namely, Audi e-tron, Audi ultra and Audi connect have given an all-new definition to mobility.

       

      The technologies will strive to meet the mobility needs of urban India in the coming time. The Audi range was unveiled by Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management, Marketing and Sales, AUDI AG, along with Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India.

      “India is a key strategic market for Audi and we are making a clear long-term statement in the country with ambitious expansion plans. Audi has seen phenomenal growth since its inception in India five years ago and today is the fastest expanding premium brand in the market. Now we are starting the next chapter of our success story: As a true premium SUV, the Audi Q3 leads the way for the Four Rings to enter a new segment in India, with ever increasing customer groups demanding for premium mobility in a compact form,” said Peter Schwarzenbauer.

      Michael Perschke said that for the past four years, Audi has thrived to increase its envisaged sales targets and attained a distinct identity in the Indian luxury car segment. Perschke said that the company has been riding high on the shoulders of new technologies that create immense scope of using creativity and innovation in its vehicles.

      Audi has been able to expand its dealership network in India along with making the Indian population aware about its vision and strategies from time to time. Audi India Head claimed that it would continue to operate in the country as a trusted brand and will be able to maintain the current momentum. Further, he said that events like Auto Expo help car makers to reach to its customers in the best possible way and offer them the most desirable products at regular intervals. 

      Through the International Audi Stand concept, the company will possibly get a chance to present its line-up available in India, along with new faces like Audi Q3, Audi A3 e-tron concept, Audi S6 and Audi Q7 V12.

      Audi Q3

      Audi Q3 is a true compact premium SUV that sports trendiness, efficiency, variety and innovation. The design carried by Q3 undoubtedly reflects the engineering know-how and futuristic thinking of the company. Its overall looks prove to be quite unique as compared to other SUVs present in the market. Q3 has less kerb weight and makes use of powerful and efficient drivetrains. It carries an unconventional chassis and stands apart in terms of assistance and multimedia systems.

      Audi A3 e-tron concept

      The Audi A3 e-tron concept is the best example of a technically sound vehicle. The four-seat sedan counts on the complete experience possessed by the production experts. The upgraded MMI operating system, best-in-class infotainment system and drivetrain are some of the most watched-out for features in the sedan.

      Audi S6

      S6 represents agility in the best possible form and can be used for day-to-day commuting. The sports car has been built in order to suffice the high-end needs of its customers. Its all-new four-litre, twin-turbo V8 engine offers great power at low rpm.

      Audi Q7 V12 TDI

      The Q7 V12 TDI quattro tops the list of most powerful diesel-engine SUVs and takes the power quotient to an all-new level. The twelve-cylinder diesel motor is capable of returning a decent mileage.

      In 2011, Audi India registered encouraging sales figures of 5511 units and eventually attained a growth of 84 per cent as against 2010, which saw a sales of 3003 Audi cars. During December 2011, it managed to sell-off 394 cars and therefore, recorded 86 per cent growth compared to last year.

      In 2011 the company built dealerships in Chennai, Delhi, Ludhiana, Surat and Indore, besides boosting the network in Coimbatore, Delhi West, Lucknow and Mumbai South.

      At the global level, Audi disseminated 1,193,100 and above cars to buyers across the world within the time period of January to November 2011. As a result, the company grew by 18.8 per cent against the same period in 2010. Audi wears the crown in Europe and China, besides being the most rapidly growing luxury car brand in U.S. and India.

      At present, Audi offers Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A7 Sportback, Audi A8L, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi RS5 Coupé, the super sports car Audi R8 and the Audi R8 Spyder in India. The Audi Group recorded sales of 1,092,400 cars in 2010 and posted € 35.4 billion revenue and operating profit of € 3.3 billion in 2010.
