The Indian unit of Germany based leading luxury car maker Audi unveiled the super luxury sedan ‘A8 L' in the Indian market on Friday. The car was launched at Audi India’s largest showroom located in Delhi with a price tag of Rs.89-lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Sporting a 4.2 litre petrol engine, the all new Audi A8 L is capable of delivering a peak power of 372 HP. Speaking to reporters, Audi India’s Head Michael Perschke told journalists said, “Audi A8 L will allow us to further build upon the tremendous growth potential that the Indian market presents. With Audi witnessing record sales in 2010 to achieve exceptional growth, we believe the new sedan will continue to spur demand in India, and set benchmarks in a segment where we have been defining automotive excellence the world over.”
Further elaborating about the new variant Mr. Perschke added , “A perfect culmination of comfort, style and performance, the new luxury sedan comes with light aluminium body, powerful and highly efficient engines, superior design and an elegant interior.”
Audi India, which is currently the third largest luxury car maker in the country, is aiming to become the largest car maker in the Indian market by year 2015. “We are looking for over 50 per cent sales growth this year as we gear up to launch new models in the country. By 2015 we aim to be the No.1 in the Indian luxury car market,” Mr. Perschke said.
