Audi will launch the new Q7 for the Indian market on December 10. It will go up against the BMW X5, Volvo XC90 and Mercedes Benz GL Class when launched in our country.

This latest iteration of the Q7 is a completely new vehicle in comparison to the outgoing one. The carmaker has adopted their new design philosophy in the Q7's making, which is reflected through the sharp features as against the rounded edges of the current one. The fascia sports a hexagonal single frame chrome grille, new arrow- shaped DRLs and new headlamps with three options on offer - xenons, LEDs or matrix LED lamps. The LED daytime running lights will get the integrated turn signals on the top-spec variant. The silhouette has slightly changed with shorter front overhangs, sloping roofline and bulging but sharpened wheel arches. At the back, the sharp theme continues in line with the design and the car gets new tail lamps and flatter exhaust tail pipes in a rectangular shape.

This new generation vehicle's cabin also offers a high quality interior replicating what the current Q7 has to offer. The new design accents have upped the premium feel and the Virtual Cockpit instrument display also gets a few tweaks. The Q7’s infotainment system is a new touch controlled MMI system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The 2015 Audi Q7 for the Indian market will be powered by the 3.0-litre V6 TDI unit that churns out 272bhp of power and 600Nm of torque. This unit will come mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Power will be sent to all four wheels via Audi Quattro AWD technology.

This 2015 iteration of the Audi Q7 made its official debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January and will finally be introduced in India next week. The biggest highlight of the new SUV is its massive weight reduction in comparison to the present Q7. The new one is 325 kg lighter thanks to the extensive usage of light weight, high-strength steel and aluminium in its construction, making it a better package. Audi has been successfully selling the Q7 in India since 2006 amongst the full-size luxury SUVs available here. The new Q7 is expected to not only duplicate it, but also better the present model's success in our country.
