Since its revelation at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013, Audi Sport Quattro Concept has been a catcher in the eyes of auto aficionados. Amidst a series of buzzes concerning its outlooks, one feature that is sure to leave onlookers completely awe-struck is the laser light technology, called E-tron plug in technology, employed by Audi in the car's LED. This update has just been stocked up in the existing design of this concept to make it look more ravishing. The upgraded version of Audi Sports Quattro Concept will be showcased at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas in mid-January. Audi Sports Quattro is an authentic hybrid sportscar powered by an electric motor and a petrol engine from the company's RS 6 model. A mammoth 4.0-litre twin-turbo charged V8 engine has been incorporated in this concept car, producing a colossal of 560 bhp with peak torque of 700 Nm. A 110-kw electric motor has been melded along that alone develops 150 bhp of power with 400 Nm of maximum torque. The latter figures interestingly are more than most of the ongoing cars in India. Combined power output of both engines is a humongous 700 bhp and the car is assisted with an 8-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox. 0-100 is attained by this hybrid sportscar in just 3.7 seconds, blistering to a top speed of 306 kmph. These statistics are astonishing and the car will certainly annihilate the tracks on which it is driven.

According to sources, its design resembles to the iconic Sports Quattro rally car introduced by the company in 1980s. At the Electronic Motor Show in Las Vegas, the car will display dual headlamps combined in a trapezoidal shape, comprising LED and laser lights. It should be noted that the headlamps will generate high beam laser and low beam LED spectra respectively. A much more compelling fact is that these laser lights will have thrice the intensity of LED's illumination, reaching almost twice the distance of the latter kind. Also, the company plans to equip the same technology in its upcoming R18 E-tron Quattro, which will be competing against the likes of Porsche 919 hybrid in Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) organised World Endurance Championship (WEC), at Le Mans.

Audi claims that this car is capable of achieving a fuel economy of 40 kmpl and it can cover a distance of almost 57 km running only on electric motor. Also Audi Sports Quattro will emit just 59 gm/km of carbon dioxide (CO2). The German auto giant plans to start production of this car in mid-2016 and the same will be available on sales shortly after that. Notably, Audi has procured a top-notch spot in the luxury car segment of Indian auto market with its sales figures crossing 10,000 mark. The increase in demand of luxury car's might persuade the company to launch its hybrid sportscar in India along with the international market. If such a thing is on the check-list of the German auto major, it will be a compelling sight to capture Audi Sports Quattro thrashing Indian roads.
