Audi Sport looks to expand RS range by the year 2018

The head of the German marque’s performance sub-brand; Stephan Winkelmann (former boss of Lamborghini), added that Audi Sport is looking to expand the present line-up of RS-badged models from seven to 15 over the coming years. At the moment, Audi Sport’s RS range includes cars like the RS3, RS Q3, TT RS, RS6 and RS7, but the brand is also considering RS versions of the new-generation A4 and A5 models.

Meanwhile, the brand is thinking of going the AMG way by proposing high performance flagship variants of every model in the fleet, like an RS8, RSQ2 and RSQ7. This year, Audi Sport launched the 2.5-litre turbo TT RS (coupe and roadster), and also revealed the RS3 saloon at the Paris Motor Show. Winkelmann said, “We have a lot of plans but are not revealing them yet. It is better to under-promise and over-deliver.”
