Audi is preparing for the launch of their new Q model, which is most likely to be named Q1. The first teaser surfaced on the web recently and now the carmaker has released another teaser before its premiere at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The Q1 crossover will be available in both diesel and petrol configurations and offered with front- and all-wheel drive configurations. Its powertrain options are expected to be shared with the other existing Audi models. This might include a three-cylinder diesel engine as well as a twin-turbo 2.0-litre TDI mill. We can also expect the Ingolstadt-based carmaker to offer the performance-based Q1 with the range-topping 310bhp mill from the Audi TTS.

The Audi Q1 will ride on the Volkswagen Group’s modular MQB platform. It is big in appearance despite being a sub-compact crossover model. It is expected to have dimensions similar to the Q3 and regardless of this being the entry-level SUV from Audi's line-up, it will be loaded with advanced technologies and features giving a premium feel.

Audi had confirmed the arrival of the Q1 earlier and will finally unveil the crossover at the Geneva Motor show in the coming month. It will be Audi’s most affordable crossover designed primarily for younger buyers and will create a new segment that includes the upcoming breed of premium compact crossovers. It is expected to reach showrooms in Europe soon after its launch. We can also expect the manufacturer to introduce the Q1 for the Indian market looking at the increasing demand for premium crossovers in India.
