The new 2013 Audi RS5 has been launched by the German luxury car maker at a price of Rs. 95.28 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra) in the Indian auto market. It is the sports version of the A5, a car that is currently up for sale for the domestic buyers. Unveiled previously at last year's Geneva Motor Show, the RS5 Coupe is much lower and wider than the Audi A5. Changed both from the inside and outside, the RS5 is faster, stronger and sportier.
With a completely transformed look and upgraded specifications, it has already created a lot of buzz in the Indian auto market. Interestingly, the model has a speed activated retractable spoiler at the rear along with new Xenon plus headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED tail lights. Being a sports car, Audi has paid extra attention in enhancing the style quotient by adding redesigned bonnet contours, bumpers and classy looking 19-inch alloys. Coming to its exteriors, the car exudes a solid and sporty presence due to its wide body that looks rich and full of class.
A complete makeover has been given to the interiors of this car, adding both style and utility features to it. Fully-adjustable power seats with electrically adjustable thigh rests, sporty aluminium inserts on the doors, three spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters and an advanced air conditioning system make the interiors of this car top class. Cruise control, Bluetooth phone connectivity, iPod connector and DVD based satellite navigator are some of the other features that have been added in the Audi RS5 Coupe.
A lot of safety features have also been added to this vehicle for better security, such as eight air bags, side impact bars, crumple zones, neck protection head rests and crash sensors. Powered by an all aluminium 4.2 litre V8 directly injection engine, it is capable of producing an output of 450 bhp along with 430 NM of torque. The famous Quattro all-wheel drive system is mated to seven speed S-tronic dual clutch transmission, which gives power to all wheels. Having a top speed of 280 kmph, the Audi RS5 Coupe is capable of touching the 0-100 kmph mark in just 4.5 seconds.
The 19-inch 5-spoke wheels have an aero design, which adds to the sporty look of the car. One of the highlights of this sports car is the special DRC (Dynamic Ride Control) suspension system, which involves the digital setting of the suspension to desired pre-set inputs for suitable driving. Also, the advanced hi-performance system ensures proper stopping through the ceramic brake pads that work on 6 piston callipers.
