Under the hood, the vehicles get 4.0 TFSI V8 petrol engine that generates an enhanced power power output of about 597bhp and 700nm of torque. However, it also gets a overboost function that allows the driver to temporarily gain 750nm of torque. Mated to a revised eight-speed automatic gearbox and featuring an upgraded chassis, the vehicle is capable of clocking a 0-62mph in just about 3.7 seconds, which is indeed about 0.2seconds faster than the regular RS6 Avant and RS7 Sportback.

The vehicles allow the driver to choose between the modes D and S or change gears manually via tapping the selector lever or by using the shift paddles on the RS multifunction sport leather steering wheel. The RS 6 Avant performance gets 21‑inch cast aluminum wheels sized 285/30 tires and the RS 7 Sportback performance gets 275/30 tires. The vehicles also get Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC) with Sport mode that can be deactivated when required.
