The Audi Q2 has been doing well in Europe, attracting younger buyers especially. Now, the brand has improved this compact crossover’s appeal even further with the help of a new petrol engine.
Following the launch of the 2.0 TDI quattro diesel variant late last year, Audi has now launched the new Q2 2.0 TFSI quattro in S line and Edition #1 specification. This new variant produces the highest power output currently available in a Q2, allowing it to accelerate to 100kmph from rest in 6.5 seconds - the fastest sprint time in the range. Its seven-speed S tronic gearbox incorporates a freewheeling mode when the standard Audi drive select handling system is set to “efficiency” mode.
In terms of design elements, the Q2 2.0 TFSI features LED headlights, an LED interior lighting pack, S line interior and exterior styling cues, 18-inch alloy wheels, C-pillar blades in matt titanium grey and front sports seats mark out the S line.
The Q2 2.0 TFSI is now on sale across Europe with on-road prices ranging between £31,760 (Rs 26.31 lakh) and £36,750 (Rs 30.05 lakh). Audi India, meanwhile, is expected to launch the Q2 sometime next year. When launched, it will compete against the likes of Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson.
