The Audi Q7 e-tron will soon be seen on-road in Europe, albeit often without a familiar sound as it travels in near silence on electric power alone. This particular Q7, of course, is the plug-in hybrid version of the standard SUV and is headed for the Geneva Motor Show. Following its unveil, the Q7 e-tron will go on sale in Germany in March and then in the UK starting May.

The Q7 e-tron combines a V6 TDI engine with a 94kW electric motor and quattro all-wheel-drive. The system, in fact, develops 373bhp of system power and 700Nm of torque. Thanks to all that power, the Q7 e-tron accelerates from 0-100kmph in 6.2 seconds. The big SUV is sort of environmentally friendly, too, with its ability to run on pure electricity for up to 34miles (54km).

Like the regular car, highlights on the Q7 e-tron include LED headlights, MMI navigation plus, a fully digital virtual cockpit and a smartphone interface embedding Apple Car Play or Google Android Auto functionality in the infotainment system.
Charging for the Q7 e-tron can be done using one of two cables that Audi has on offer. A 16A 3.6 kW version will be included as standard and will provide a full charge in around 4 hours and 45 minutes when connected to any public charging point. Alternatively, an optional 23A 7.2 kW cable will be available for faster charging.

The Q7 e-tron is the first plug-in hybrid model from the Audi Q family for the European market. It will go on sale in the UK starting May with on-road prices starting at £65,000 (Rs 62.53 lakh).
