      Audi India Gains Momentum in Indian Market

      Audi India reports a 208 percent jump in its sales in the Indian market. It sold 357 units in October as compared to 116 units in the same period last year. The German company has been vying for a larger market share in the Indian domestic market since long.

      "This record performance reflects the appeal that our brand enjoys with discerning Indian customers as well as our business partners, and confirms that we are on a sustainable and profitable growth path. We will look at strategic initiatives both on the capacity and network front, in order to keep up with this growth," said Audi India Head Michael Perschke.

      Audi A6

      Audi India is already on its way to expand its dealerships pan India to boost sales and mark a larger presence amongst Indian customers. It is also expanding its product portfolio. The company is now ready to introduce its new Audi A6 at the upcoming 2011 Geneva Auto Show and will introduce the same in Indian market by 2012. The new A6 adopts the broad, chiseled stance of the larger A8, along with Audi's signature tapering grille. It will be powered by 2.0 TFSI and 2.8L FSI engine producing 180 bhp and 201 bhp respectively. These will be mated to 6-speed manual, 7-speed S Tronic (DSG), or 8-speed automatic transmission depending on engine choice.

      Audi is presently working on introducing its flagship model, the top-of-the-line Audi A8L in India in early 2011.
