Audi India has revised the prices of the vehicles in its range following the GST (Goods and Services Tax) rule implemented from 1 July 2017. Some of the premium luxury cars see a reduction in the price in certain states.

The prices of SUVs were set to drop under the new tax structure. And indeed, prices of Audi's SUVs have seen a reduction anywhere between Rs 48,000- Rs 3.11 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the model. The entry-level Q3 SUV is now priced from Rs 32.48 lakhs to Rs 40.60 lakhs, as against pre-GST prices from Rs 32.21 lakhs to Rs 41.2 lakhs. The prices of the Q7 model have also reduced as the 45 TDI Premium Plus costs Rs 70.12 lakhs as against the previous price of Rs 72.9 lakhs. The revised price of the Q7's Technology Pack is Rs 77.84 lakhs, lower than the earlier price of Rs 80.95 lakhs. Audi hasn't mentioned the Q5 SUV's prices as we can expect the new-gen Q5 to be launched in India soon.

The prices of the Audi luxury sedans have also been revised although there isn't a stark difference. The Audi A3 sedan now starts at Rs 30.77 lakhs with the top-of-the-line Cabriolet going up to Rs 48.52 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Audi A4 sedan is priced between Rs 38.4 lakhs to Rs 42.66 lakhs. In comparison to pre-GST prices, there is not much difference, even though prices have reduced for the top-end trims. The same is the case with the A6 and A8 luxury sedans.

GST was set to be implemented on July 1 and prospective buyers were hesitant to buy cars until then as prices were going to drop. Now buyers of luxury and premium car models stand to benefit the most in this GST regime. However, customers should consider the tax rates in different states as this price revision depends on each state, model and variant.
