Audi is planning to bring the A5 Sportback to India and is comprehensively testing the four-door sedan in the country which is evident by the camouflaged test mules that we have spotted. Sadly, we could not have a sneak peek inside the car, but the A5 will certainly match the global car in terms of equipment.
The A5 Sportback will sit between the Audi A4 and the A6 sedans in the Audi line-up. For someone who wants something different and stylish, the coupe-ish roofline would certainly be tempting. It gets the typical hexagonal horizontally slatted front grille with the four-ringed-logo at the centre and LED headlamps with day-time running lamps. The car looks longer than the A4, almost as long as the A6 which means good headroom and leg-room for the rear passengers.
After the global unveil of the new generation A5 coupe on June 2, it seems that the four-door Sportback will come to the sub-continent immediately after it breaks cover globally. We expect the A5 to feature the Audi Virtual Cockpit display and the new MMI touch in India as well. Audi will continue to offer the highest selling 2.0-litre turbo-diesel with the A5 and may also offer it with the 3.0-litre V6 mill.
