Audi has recently imported a few models from the 2017 A5 and S5 Sportback family to India. These cars will be used for homologation purposes in the country.
The models in question are the 2017 A5 Sportback and the S5 Sportback, which are yet to make its world debut. According to the import data, Audi India has brought the 35 TDI version of the A5. This comes powered by a 2.0-litre diesel mill, good to churn out 187bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. And on the transmission front, there is a seven-speed S-Tronic gearbox.
The report also shows that the Audi S5 Sportback has been imported as well. This is based on the A5, but is a more powerful car. Under its hood is a 3.0-litre V6 mill that comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. With a power output rated at 349bhp of power and 500Nm of torque, the car does the 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 250kmph.
Both the cars will be officially unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next month. And with the cars already imported to India, it’s likely that the carmaker will launch these models for the Indian market as soon as possible.
