Audi India has finally launched the much-awaited A3 Cabriolet in the Indian car market. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the A3 Cabriolet is priced at Rs. 44.75 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi. The two-seater, four-door convertible is introduced in the country to target buyers looking for joyful drive with roof down. The A3 Cabriolet shares most of its styling cues with the sedan model; however, the company made slight changes to interiors to offer something new to buyers. It features the soft top, which is made of soft fabric and with a press of button, the roof open or close electro-hydraulically in less than 18 seconds and works at speeds of up to 50kmph.
The Audi A3 Cabriolet measures 4.24 metres in length, 1.70-litres in width and 1.41 metres in height. It comes with a large wheelbase of 2.60 metres, and offers a decent luggage space of 60-litres. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels. The vehicle gets 4-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with paddle shifters.
The Audi A3 Cabriolet also gets several optional features including Bang Olufsen sound system, front sports seats and Multi-media infotainment system with navigation. As standard, the vehicle gets S-Line exterior, Milano leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and cruise control.
It is only offered in petrol version. Under the bonnet is the tried & tested 1.8-litre turbocharged, 4-cylinder petrol unit that also powers the A3 sedan. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 180PS and a peak torque of 350Nm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed S-tronic automatic gearbox which transmits the power to front wheels of the car. The A3 Cabriolet does 0-100kmph in just 7.4 seconds and hits a top speed of 240 kmph.
