Earlier this week, Britain-based luxury sports car maker, Aston Martin began testing its new V12 Vantage GT3 at the Brands Hatch Circuit in Kent. The testing of the new V12 Vantage GT3 was majorly conducted by the factory driver Darren Turner, covering around 621 miles in two days.

According to Turner, “The feeling of the V12 Vantage GT3 is a massive step forward from the DBRS9. Being based on the smaller Vantage it is more responsive and feels more nimble, giving the driver plenty of confidence to extract all the performance from the V12 engine while also being light on its tyres. It isn’t too physical to drive and I didn’t even break into a sweat during the test.”

The car comes with a revised 6-litre V12 engine that is powerful enough to churn 600 bhp of maximum power and peak torque of 698 Nm. Among several changes, the new V12 Vantage GT3 has a lightweight crankshaft, dry sump lubrication and new valvetrains that deliver better performance and reliability.

Positioned behind the front axle line, the powerful 600 bhp engine has an improved weight distribution and sends power through a six-speed sequential gearbox. Moreover, the carbon-fibre drivershaft connects the transmission to a limited-slip differential.

The lightweight aluminium chassis comes with a steel roll cage, in accordance with the FIA safety standards. The suspension has a double-wishbone with uniball bearings, front and rear two-way adjustable dampers and a revamped structure for lower ride height.

Turner also mentioned that, “With the clean styling and the amazing sounding V12, it’s closer to the core values of Aston Martin’s road cars than any of the racing cars we’ve ever built, I’m certain it’ll become a favourite among motor sport fans in no time at all.”

The company mentioned that its new V12 Vantage GT3 will be eligible for running in all FIA GT3 and national GT3 championships. Thus, with performance-based innovations like the new V12 Vantage GT3, Aston Martin will continue to enjoy a favourable status in sports car racing.
