      When it comes to posh, luxury cars, the name Aston Martin crops up on more occasions than one. In a recent survey conducted by the viewers of the popular French automotive TV program Automoto TF1, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S has been voted as the most elegant car of the year 2014. This model is the fastest series production car of Aston Martin till date and can do a whopping 328 kilometres per hour. Apart from the speed aspect, the car also boasts of superior styling features with subtle additions, which emphasise on the its visceral performance potential. Some features, which have been added are the carbon fibre grille, which have been engineered and designed to give a robust look. With a new roof, rear graphics packs and lightweight forged alloy wheels, the car has been given an aggressive profile throughout.

      Replete with sensational interiors, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S gets plush seats, exquisitely finished doors and superior controls. Carbon fibre lightweight seats can be opted for as an addition. There are two options as far as the trims are concerned, Luxmill and semi aniline, with an optional Alcantara. The sporty appeal has been enhanced by the optional Carbon Fibre Interior Pack, which adds on the car fascia as well as the black pedals and door pulls. Marek Reichman, the Chief Creative Officer at Aston Martin, said, “The V12 Vantage S is our most powerful engine, dressed in a beautifully tailored suit. It is elegant, yet brutal, and it is at the same time easy to control. It has everything that sums up Aston Martin: power, beauty and soul."

      Mechanistically, the Vantage S is powered by the AM28 6-litre V12 engine, which also powers the V12 Vantage model. However, the tuning has been made more powerful so that Vantage S delivers 11 per cent more power than the V12 with a net output of 573 PS. Apart from that factor, the torque output is 9 per cent more at 620 Nm and does a 0-60 miles per hour much faster at 3.7 seconds. The top speed of Vantage is 305 kilometres per hour, while Vantage S gets 328 kilometres for an hour. The S model is considerably lighter by 15 kilograms to increase the power to weight ratio by over 10 per cent.
