Tata Motors, the largest vehicle maker in the Indian market, said on Friday that it would soon roll-out the BS IV variant of its popular hatchback Indica in the country. The company has claimed that the new Indica variant would become the most fuel efficient car in company’s India portfolio.
The new Indica has been announced to offer a mileage of 25 kmpl. At present, Tata Nano is the most fuel efficient car from Tata’s portfolio. In the diesel hatchbacks, Nissan Micra tops the chart with a fuel economy of 23 kmpl (as per ARAI).
According to company, the all new Indica sports a newly refined engine that offers a 46 per cent improvement in fuel efficiency along with a 32 per cent increase in power. The new engine of Indica delivers a peak power of 70 PS power at 4,000 RPM along with a top torque of 140 Nm.
Besides sporting a new engine, the new variant of Indica will also carry fresh looks and features at both interior and exterior. The new Indica variant is expected to be launched in the country in the range of 400,000-500,000.
