A new generation Kia C’eed may hit the market next year. We have here, the first ever spy shots of the the sporty GT iteration of the all-new C’eed, lapping the tough circuits of the Nurburgring. The current generation Kia C’eed, the second highest selling car for the Korean manufacturer in Europe, has been in the market since 2012.

Under all the black cladding of the test mule, we can make out reworked LED headlights with four-point lighting signature. The tail lights are wider and have LED elements in them as well. The new C’eed seems to be slightly bigger than the current car, but thanks to the new underpinnings from Hyundai, it will be lighter than before. The large sporty wheels are new as well. There seems to be a single exhaust tip sticking out at the rear, but there is also a provision for dual set-up for the GT trim.

Under the hood of the test mule might sit the same 1.6-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine from the current C’eed GT pushing out a healthy 201bhp. The other variants including the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre engine in petrol and diesel options may also be carried over. As far as transmission is concerned, the all new DCT transmission can also be offered with the standard six-speed manual. A plug-in hybrid powertrain is also on the cards, but that will come later.

Following the launch of the new updated C’eed, the three-door ProC’eed and the C’eed Sportswagon will follow suite. The new Cee’d is expected to make its debut in September this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
