General Motors has unveiled the new generation Chevrolet Sail sedan at the 2014 Guangzhou Motor Show in China. This sedan gets several upgrades to both exteriors and interiors, and the mid-sized model looks lot more appealing than its predecessor.
The new generation Sail sedan features Chevrolet’s new design philosophy. The exteriors of the all-new Sail feature a new front fascia with a larger dual-port grille that is flanked by sweptback headlamps. This model is significantly grown in size compared to the previous model. The sedan is 51mm longer and 45mm wider than its predecessor, while the wheelbase of the sedan has been increased by 35mm which contributes to its cabin space.
The company says that the new Sail sedan has sculpted seats, and features a “flowing instrument panel” and “exquisite craftsmanship”. It is also claimed to offer an excellent luggage carrying capacity of 366-litres, which is sufficient enough to accommodate 3 suitcases.
In the Chinese market, the vehicle will be available with two engine options. The company hasn’t released the exact engine specs of the sedan, but it is confirmed that the new Sail will get the 1.3-litre VVT and a 1.5-litre DVVY engines. Engines can be paired to either a manual transmission or a “mechanical automatic” with a start-stop function.
