      Alfa Romeo has unveiled the full range of the new Giulia sports sedan in Geneva, just before its production commences later this month. The high performance Quadrifoglio version was showcased last year and that along with rest of the range will take on the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

      The standard version displayed at Geneva misses out on the large air intakes, rear diffuser, quad exhaust, but looks exquisite. It uses the standard Alfa Romeo design philosophy with the ‘V” shaped grille at the front, coupled with the elongated headlamps.

      The Italian carmaker has opted for light coloured interior, with leather trim and wooden inserts for the Giulia. The infotainment system has all functions including SAT-NAV and phone connectivity, operated through the rotary dial for the screen on the dashboard. Alfa Romeo is also providing lots of safety features like forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking and lane departure safety warning.

      The Giulia will be available with one petrol and one diesel engine option, each in two states of tune. The less powerful of the petrol engine options will deliver 200bhp from the 2.0-litre unit, the other one will be tuned produce 276bhp. The 2.2-litre diesel will similar be available in choice of 150bhp or 180bhp power output. . All of them can be availed with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive set up, mated to the six-speed manual or the eight-speed automatic gearbox.

      Alfa Romeo will start production of the Giulia in Europe on March 14, with deliveries beginning by the end of April.
