Capturing last spot on the list of LMC Automotive top 10 best-selling cars in the world in 2013, Volkswagen’s small car, Polo is all set to woe the customers in a new avatar.Polo facelift will be launched in domestic market by the end of second quarter; however the hatchback has already been made available in certain markets including Germany where the first unit of upgraded Polo was delivered. A 1.2 litre TSI engine model of Polo is the first unit from the hatchback’s new lot to be delivered to a customer residing in Backstedt, Germany.
The modified Polo gets a couple of tweaks on both exterior and interior front. In India the hatchback will be offered with a new 1.5 litre diesel engine, speculations are rife that an automatic gearbox could also make its way into the hatchback. The current Polo line up in India comes with a 1.2 litre, three potTDiand a 1.6 litreTDidiesel motors. With the induction of new 1.5 litre diesel motor, Volkswagen could ditch the 1.2 litreTDiengine offered on the outgoing version but there is no confirmation on the same yet. The new 1.5 litre diesel engine is said to deliver varied power output of 89bhpand 104bhp.
