The trouble for Japanese auto giant Honda doesn’t seems like to be ending soon as just a month after recalling a large number of Honda City sedans in the global markets due to faulty power window switches, the company now has announced to recall 347,000 Pilot SUVs, globally. The Pilot sports utility vehicles have been recalled for a potential fault with the front seat belts.
The recall will affect the SUV’s manufactured in Lincoln, Alabama, with model year 2009 to 2011. According to a recent statement given by the firm, there is a possibility of driver seat belt or front passenger seat belt would disconnect from the anchor webbing in case of an accident, which can cause serious injuries. However, so far no serious casualties have been reported due to this fault, stated the company official.
The firm said in a statement, that the recall has been announced due to a manufacturing error in a few Pilot SUVs, where the lap section of the seat-belt may be partially or fully not cot connected to the outboard anchor webbing through stitching. The company will start sending written notifications to the owners of Pilot SUVs by first week of October.
The affected Pilot SUVs include 311,000 in US, 10,000 in Canada, 8,000 in Mexico, and a small number in other countries.
