Skoda Auto, 100 per cent owned division of Volkswagen Group, has come up in the market with a new variant of Superb, Superb Ambition. The company launched this car in Mumbai on 18th April 2012, where we were counted among the fortunate people who had a glimpse of the car. With the launch of this car, the company has introduced a new entry level premium car in the sedan segment of the Indian auto industry. On the grounds of price, Skoda has placed this car lower by Rs. 1.65 lacs as compared to the elegance variant of Superb. The petrol version of Superb Ambition is priced at Rs. 18 lacs, while the diesel version is offered in consideration of Rs. 22.5 lacs (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
Although Ambition is a base variant of Superb, the company still provides a large number of world class features that provides a luxurious drive to its customers. The interiors of this car are incorporated with chrome package, wood design interior decoration, dual tone onyx-ivory interior, ivory nappa leather seat upholstery and SWING audio player with auxiliary inputs for portable media players. In addition to these, the car is also incorporated with 12 way electric adjustable driver as well as front passenger seat with programmable memory function and dual zone climatronic control.
In order to provide a convenient drive to its occupants, the new version is assimilated with automatic air circulation system with air quality sensors and adjustable air conditioner vents at rear. Considering the exterior design of Ambition, it is incorporated with certain unmatched features that mark its presence over roads. These features include exterior chrome package, moon alloy wheels, turn indicators in outer rear view mirrors, rear deck lid spoiler and polished dual exhaust tailpipes.
As far as safety and security advancements packed within Ambition are concerned, the car holds both standard as well as advanced features. Standard features packed within the car include eight airbags including rear side, halogen projector head lights with manual levelling option. Moreover, the advanced features packed within the car includes Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Break-force Distribution (EBD), Anti Slip Regulation (ASR), Traction Control System (TCS) and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL). All these features provide a feeling of extra security to its passengers.
