Honda Cars India Ltd. has registered an impressive growth of 23 per cent in March, 2015. By selling 22,696 units in March 2015, the company has recorded its highest ever month domestic sales. The company had sold a total of 18.246 units in March 2014.
Driven by strong demand for the new City and Amaze compact sedan throughout the year, Honda Cars India registered its highest ever annual domestic sales of 189,062 units during FY 2014–15 recording 41% growth over last financial year. The company also exported 691 units during March 2015, taking the annual export volume to 8403 units as compared to 5798 units in FY 2013-14.
The company managed to sell 9,777 units of the new City sedan in March 2015. The 4th-generation City crossed the 1-lakh cumulative sales mark in mere 15 months. Moreover, the company also delivered 8,128 units of the Amaze compact sedan in March 2015. The Brio accounts of 1,642 units, while 3,049 units of Mobilio was delivered to customers in March. 100 units of the flagship Honda CR-V SUV were sold last month.
Commenting on the company’s sales performance, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd., said, “The fiscal 2014-2015 has been extremely fruitful for HCIL. The new Honda City has achieved exceptional success with over 1 lakh sales in record 15 months. We are excited about the upcoming launch of Honda Jazz in the new fiscal and look forward to another year of good growth.”
“HCIL also witnessed 36% growth in nation-wide dealer network expansion by focusing on existing markets & newer Tier III cities” he added. The company now has 232 dealerships in 152 cities across India.
